Stacy

Stacy Ebert is a children’s book author and illustrator with more than 28 years of experience in art, design, and visual storytelling. Her background in communication art, graphic design, and elementary education shapes her approach to creating engaging stories and illustrations that connect with young readers.

Before entering children’s publishing, Stacy built a diverse creative career as a graphic designer, commissioned artist, quality assurance manager, and marketing professional within advertising and branding. She also gained valuable experience in education through work in public school special education, teaching middle school drama, leading play productions, and volunteering in elementary classrooms and literacy programs.

Since launching her career in children’s publishing, Stacy has secured eight traditionally published book deals with leading publishers, including Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Abrams, Penguin Random House, and Holiday House. Her work has also expanded into licensing, with a character from one of her books adapted into a plush doll through MerryMakers.

Stacy enjoys sharing the magic of storytelling and illustration with young readers through school visits, bookstore events, literary festivals, and creative workshops. She has presented at events such as the 2024 Brooklyn Book Festival and regularly encourages children to explore their own creativity through reading, writing, and art.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Individualized Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education and Technology Art & Design and completed extensive coursework in Graphic Design. Her unique blend of teaching experience, artistic training, and publishing knowledge allows her to connect with children, educators, and readers in meaningful ways.

Based in Minnesota, Stacy continues to create books and illustrations that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading. She enjoys connecting with readers, educators, publishers, and fellow creatives through storytelling, art, and educational programming.
